Furman dominated the early part of the game. They led 28-6 in the middle of the third quarter. Georgia Southern decided to forget the triple-option and go with Tracy Ham's passing game. Southern went ahead on four consecutive touchdowns. Furman tied the game. Southern kicked a field goal to go ahead again. Furman scored to go back ahead.
